Mexican Pilot Program

Mexican students who are approved for the Mexican Pilot Program at UT Arlington may pay the Texas resident tuition rate. Approval for the program is based upon the following criteria:

  1. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of Mexico who resides in Mexico and who plans to return to Mexico to live immediately after finishing his/her educational program.

  2. Must meet the admission requirements of UT Arlington.

  3. Must show financial need and inability to pay the non-resident portion of tuition.

  4. Must enroll as a full-time student  (Full time is defined as at least 12 semester credit hours per semester for undergraduate students and 9 semester credit hours for graduate students).

If you qualify, please include a Mexican Pilot Program application form with your university international application so it may be considered during the normal application process. You may request a copy of the application from the International Office (817-272-2355; e-mail: international@uta.edu) If you wait until after enrolling, a student must prove financial need that was unknown at the time of admission.

Institutions not on the border with Mexico, such as UT Arlington, are limited to enrolling in this program not more than two eligible Mexican students per thousand of total enrollment at the institution per term. At this time, UT Arlington can enroll 38-40 students in this program.
